Private Lessons with Jeannette LoVetri

Jeannette Lovetri

Jeannette LoVetri will be available for a limited number of private lessons, probably on Monday 22nd September.

The cost of lessons is not yet known, but there will be provision on the registration form to indicate your interest.

If there is overwhelming interest, the suggestion that Jeannie has made is that  we hold a 'lottery' to determine who gets the lessons.

Lessons will be at the participant's expense.

More info will be available when known.

2

Tour of WAAPA (optional)

waapa edith cowan university logo

Maureen Furr has arranged an optional tour of WAAPA on Monday morning 22nd September.

This will provide an opportunity for delegates from the other states to see behind the scenes at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and will include morning tea. Julie Warn, Director of WAAPA is very pleased at the possible opportunity of meeting you.

There will be provision on the registration form to book for this tour.

3

Accommodation.

We have secured a limited amount of very reasonably priced accommodation at St Catherine's College and Trinity Conference & Accommodation Centre, both an easy walk from the University of Western Australia and a short drive from our Sunday venue in Kings Park.

For further information email Megan Sutton or Maureen Furr.

4

When will the registration form be available?

We are aiming to have the registration form online after the Easter break.

Early bird registrations will close on 1st July.

Remember that if you pay your registration by 30th June you can claim part of the cost of the conference as a tax deduction in the 2007-2008 tax year.

Major Presenter: Jeannette LoVetri

Jeannette Lovetri

The WA Chapter is thrilled to announce that our major presenter for the 2008 conference will be Jeannette LoVetri.

Jeannette is in demand as one of the world's top specialists in training singers for contemporary commercial music of all styles.

She is the Founder and Director of The Voice Workshop™ and creator of Somatic Voicework™, a unique body-based voice training program.

Jeanette LoVetri is a past president of the New York Singing Teachers' Association, a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (USA) and secretary of the American Academy of Teachers of Singing.

Her students can be heard in leading roles on Broadway and in national tours, as well as on network television, in film and in major concert halls. In addition to her work with singers she has published major articles in the field of voice science and in 1999 she was awarded the prestigious Van Lawrence Fellowship by the Voice Foundation for her significant contribution to voice science in the teaching of singing.

Getting There

We urge ANATS members to start checking specials on the Qantas and Virgin websites now (Jetstar does not service Perth).

Plan to Go.

Book early and save.

TIPS ON BUDGETING
Budgeting tips gathered at the recent Music Theatre Forum in Ballarat:

- Jenny Caire (Vic Chapter) suggests logging onto the Virgin website at 12 noon every day as special deals are posted at that time. You never know what is going to come up but the deals are great and you may just get a bargain flight to Perth for the conference.
- Curtis Bayliss (Vic Chapter) recommends putting aside the fee from one private student per week from now until the conference, thus paying most of your expenses.

The Venues

  • The University Club of WA on the campus of the University of WA

Situated just eight minutes drive from the Perth CBD on the banks of the Swan River, the University Club is located on campus at The University of Western Australia.

  • Frasers in Kings Park
A restaurant and function centre with contemporary atmosphere and views of The Swan River and Perth city.

Stay tuned for further details...
