The governing body of ANATS is the National Council, consisting of representatives of each Chapter elected on the basis of one Council Member for each thirty (30) Chapter members, with a minimum of one Council member for each Chapter and a maximum of three.

Dr Rowena Cowley (NSW) National President
Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney
As President of ANATS NSW Chapter, 2001-2005, Rowena took a leading role in convening an artistically and financially successful national conference in Sydney in 2004, and in initiating the first ANATS teaching internships.
Further State Chapter workshops and conferences included hosting international teachers for Master-teacher tours and workshops on the pedagogy of classical and contemporary voice including diction, acting, vocal health and young voice.
As Vice-President of ANATS National Council 2006-2008 Rowena has been involved in the oversight of two further National Conferences.
Daniel Kay (Qld)Djarts Principal Voice Coach and Solo Artist
ANATS National Secretary (2006 – ) and immediate past president of ANATS Qld Chapter (2006-08).
Daniel has been integrally involved in the Qld State symposium for the past 5 years.
Having completed his Masters degree in Contemporary Voice (2002), Daniel is currently pursuing his Doctorate (DMA) at Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium.
Daniel’s expertise, beyond his extensive studio practice, sees him guest lecture at tertiary institutions nationally, adjudicate vocal competitions, present academic papers to peers at a national level and give voice clinics to groups such as Hillsong Australia.
Daniel is also the Principal Voice Coach for Djarts Voice Studios.
Kathleen Connell (NSW)Private Teacher
Kathleen is currently ANATS National Treasurer.
Kathleen is immediate past vice president and committee member of NSW State Chapter and participated in the organizing committee of the 2004 NSW ANATS Conference.
Kathleen is a professional singer who has performed with Opera Australia, Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC), Australian Ballet, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, FIVA and other large outdoor ceremonies, festivals, concerts and in recital and has recorded for public and commercial radio and television.
Kathleen has taught singing for over ten years at tertiary and secondary schools, performing arts colleges and in private practice
